Sema Sanal Bas, Gonca Kılıc Yildirim.

Abstract
Glutaric aciduria type II is an autosomal recessive metabolic disorder of amino acid and lipid metabolism which is serious and rare. The most serious form is seen in early infancy period and associated with very high mortality rates. Here we present an 8-month-old male patient with glutaric acidemia type II who had ST depression and sudden cardiac arrest at 10th minute of emergency operation (central venous catheter placement). There is very small amount of data in literature about anesthetic management of glutaric acidemia type II patients. There is no any published case report about cardiac arrest during inducion of anesthesia in glutaric acidemia type II patients. Therefore, we believe that it is worth publishing this case report which ends with cardiac arrest, involving our anesthesia experience of this very rare disease.

Key words: Glutaric Acidemia Type II, Anesthesia, Cardiac Arrest
